Pooh-pooh fallacy example

The pooh-pooh fallacy consists of dismissing an argument as being unworthy of serious consideration.

1. The Proponent of the claim/argument “Horrific evil seems to count as at least some evidence against God because it seems that if God exists, then he would not allow horrific suffering. Why? Because horrific suffering is not necessary in order to have a relationship with God.”

2. Objector, “Whatever, that argument does not deserve any attention”
